It was another busy week for the Lifford Ac athletes as they travelled to Derry for the Annual Paula’s 5k Run in Gransha. The club had a total of ten runners on duty on what turned out to be another great weekend for the club.
The first runner over the line was Daniel Hannigan in a impressive time of 16.39. National medalist from Athlone Ann Marie McGlynn was next home from the club in a seasons best of 16.52, and also the winning senior lady. Paul Kelly was next in 17.12pb. Sean Dudgeon and Bill Duncan built on their 2nd and 3rd from last weeks 10k on Bundoran with a personal best of 17.28 and 17.34 respectively. Paul “Gadget” Kelly and Eddie Kelly also had a super runs in a time of 17.36 and 17.45. Paul knocking 32 secs off his pb. Next over the line was Claire McGuigan, in a pb of 18.30 which is 22secs off her previous pb. Next to cross the line was assistant coach Maurice Sharkey in 18.50pb, with the ever improving Kevin McMenamin next in 19.08.
On Sunday in the Annual Letterkenny St Patrick’s Day 5k Lifford also had a few runner braving the tough route. Alan McGinley was the first home in an impressive time of 20.30, next home was Michael Murphy in 21.22, Martin Devenney 21.30 and Conor McGinley in 23.22.
