Raphoe Family Resource Centre

MONDAY MORNING DROP-IN

The Monday morning drop-in continues in the Family Resource Centre from 10.30am-12.30pm each Monday so why not call in when you are passing for a cup of tea and a chat or bring a newspaper or book and relax in a warm friendly environment. The Family Resource Centre has a book library and you can swop a book anytime you are in. We look forward to seeing you.

FRIDAY’S NIGHTS AT THE FRC:

The next Movie nite will be held on Friday 12th April from 7.00 – 9.pm .Parents/guardians are very welcome to come along to help supervise.

 

 

COUNSELLING SERVICES

Raphoe Family Resource Centre is now in a position to offer a free and confidential weekly counselling service to the general public. This person-centred service will be for those experiencing Bereavement/Loss, Separation, Abuse, Mental Health Difficulties and issues around sexuality. It will operate on an appointment basis only. Contact 086 3601718 after 7.00 p.m.

 

RAPHOE TIDY TOWNS APPEAL 2013

It’s that time of year again when we begin to think about spring cleaning and tidying up. The Tidy Towns are seeking the help of our entire community as in past years. What can you do to help Raphoe for this year’s Tidy Towns Competition? You could

Keep your area litter free, Remove weeds or overgrowth from boundary walls

Paint your homes/properties & Tidy your Gardens, Keep green areas well mown and tidy

Put out hanging baskets or window boxes, Respect Wildlife & Recycle your waste

If you own a derelict property please have it cleaned up, Donate paint, flowers or shrubs for the town.

If you wish to sponsor bedding plants for the summer it would be very much appreciated this year especially. A Sincere Thank You from the Committee, Supervisor & Staff of Raphoe Tidy Towns Ltd for all your help over the years. Together we can make Raphoe a better place to live, work, visit and play in, today and into the future.

IRISH BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE BLOOD DONORS NEEDED IN BALLYBOFEY

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service Board’s mobile unity team will be in Jackson’s Hotel Ballybofey on Monday 25th March from 6.30 – 9.30 p.m. and Tuesday 26th March, Wednesday 27th 2013 from 3.00 to 5.00 p.m. and 7.00 – 9.30 p.m.

 

RAPHOE BOXING CLUB

It was standing room only in the Cathedral Hall on Friday night last when local boxing club staged their annual Billy Spider Kelly Memorial Tournament and the capacity crowd were treated to 14 excellent bouts of amateur boxing when Raphoe boxers faced a highly rated Ulster all Star selection. Raphoe’s head coach and matchmaker Gary Mc Cullagh can take great credit for his excellent match-making that saw all 14 contests go the scheduled distance. The Raphoe boxers who took part were, Cody Lafferty, Oran Devine, Charlie Mc Donagh, Ronan Kelly, Jade Crossan, Patrick Friel, Eoin Kelly, Glen Hamilton,Adrian Herrity, Denis Lafferty, Gerard Crawford, Caroline Connolly, Danny Duggan and Tony Stokes. A special thanks goes to Mike Kelly of Shercloon Developments the main sponsor, to Ronnie Goudie of Cathedral Hall, to all the ladies in the canteen and ticket sellers and the three local beauties who ring-card girls on the night Cathy Quinn, Meghan Laird and Amelia Mc Cullagh. On Tuesday night last Raphoe boxers Oran Devine and Charlie Mc Donagh were both crowned N.W. Zone Champions in Dungiven Co. Derry and both now go through to the Ulster Fianls to be held in Pilots Row Derry on Sunday 24th March and everyone at the Raphoe club extend best wishes for every success to both boxers.
