The counting of votes in both the Marriage Equality Referendum and the Age Eligibility for President begins in earnest at 9am today.
There were strong voter turn out in many urban areas across Donegal when the polls closed at 10pm last night.
Island voting took place earlier on Thursday.
Counting for Donegal NE takes place in the Bonagee Centre in Letterkenny while in Donegal SE, the St John Bosco centre will be the location.
The total Electorate is as follows:
Total Electorate - North East - 59,006 (not including supplement)
Total Electorate - South West - 61,678 (not including supplement)
Electorate (6) Islands - 732 (not including supplement)
It is expected that early tallies on voting trends will emerge after a couple of hours.
