Donegal has said Yes!
Both Donegal North East and South West has voted 'yes' in the Marriage Equality Referendum.
The announcement was made just a short time ago by Donegal NE returning officer Geraldine O'Connor at the Bonagee Community Centre outside Letterkenny.
There were shouts of joy as the result was finally read out.
The electorate was 59,721 with the amount of those who voted was 30,723.
The total invalid vote was 191.
The total valid poll was 30,532 with 16,040 voting yes while 14,492 voted no.
There were just 33 votes in the different in Donegal South West however.
There was talk of a recount but this has ben discounted because the rest of the country had turned a yes vote.
A total of 15,907 voted yes while 15,874 voted no.
