Donegal’s Carl McHugh is expected to feature for Ireland tonight and earn his Second International cap at U21 level as Ireland face Portugal at Oriel Park Dundalk.
McHugh who has enjoyed a fantastic first season at Bradford City was given permission by Ireland manager Noel King to play for Bradford at the weekend.
However the clash between Bradford and Bristol Rovers fell victim to the adverse weather conditions that hit the UK at the weekend.
McHugh received his first cap last month when he was introduced at half time in their 3-0 victory over Holland.
McHugh received his call up after producing a string of fantastic performances during Bradford’s heroic cup run which saw them reach the capital one cup final at Wembley.
McHugh will be joined by Derry native Shane Duffy whose father Brian is from Letterkenny, Duffy is the captain of the U21 side and recently found himself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons after he tweeted “Up da Ra!”
Duffy claimed it wasn’t him that tweeted it and that it was a friend who had his phone.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at Tallaght stadium but has now be changed to Oriel Park with a 7.30pm kick off.
