The Under 14s had another great result in the league beating Four Masters. Well done to all the players and the management team of Darragh Brogan, Michael Gallagher & Dermot McGrane.
Naomh Brid won their second game on the trot as they put away Four Masters B at pairc Naomh Brid. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half it was the away side who started brighter going two points ahead but Naomh Brid responded with a goal Billy Harron. With strong running from Jarlath Leonard, Ryan Brogan going well at half forward and Keelan Heaney a constant threat at full forward, the home side started to take control with goals from Jack Britton, Heaney and Ethan Gallagher and another point from Keelan Heaney left the halftime score 4-1 to 0-4. With the wind with them Naomh Brid always looked in control and could afford missing some real good scoring opportunities as the defence was being well marshalled by Conor Mc Gloin and with Jack Britton moving onto the dangerous Four Masters centre half forward there was nothing really being created by the visitors. A free from Ryan Brogan followed by a points from Harron and Britton pushed the home side further in front. This gave a good opportunities for the substitutes to impress and Luke Burgess will have giving the management selection dilemmas for next weekend. Four Masters rose to life in the final five when the home side were probably thinking off what was on the post match sandwiches and allowed 2 goals passed them. But the stage was set for the man of the match Britton to have the final say with great link up play from Leonard and Heaney, Jack got in the end off a pass and fired to the net. A final score off 5-4 to 2-4. A great team performance with alongside Britton, Leonard, Eoin Mac Grane and Brogan standing out with a united defensive performance that will hopefully set the home team up for a good game against a strong Naomh Ultan side next Sunday away at 12pm. A big support would be a big lift to the lads who are finally getting results which merits their training efforts.
