The three men who were arrested yesterday morning near Ballybofey have all been released without charge this evening, Gardai have said in a statement.
"A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions," added the Garda spokesman.
The men were arrested after a bomb was found under the car of a couple who are both serving PSNI officers.
The device was found outside their home in the village of Eglinton.
