GAA great Martin McHugh is to be given a special honour when the Donegal New York Gaelic Football Club celebrates its 65th birthday next month.
“The 2013 recipient of the Damian Meehan Memorial Award is Kilcar man Martin,” said Ira Goldman from the New York club.
The two-time All-Star and BBC pundit will be accompanied by the Sam Maguire at the event.
The Campbell-Houlihan Award winner this year is CORMACH MURRIHY, who has been a strong supporter of the NY GAA for years. Cormach came here from Ratoath, Co. Meath, in August 1997. He played for the Meath Junior A team until 2000 and trained with the Donegal teams of 1999 and 2000. In 2005 he established United Structural Works, structural steel fabricators and erectors, in Congers.
The Donegal Player of the Year is Goalkeeper Brian Cullinan and The Young Player of the Year is Brendan Grant
