Lifford AC had a great showing when a team travelled to take part in the Omagh Half-Marathon.
The highlight of the day coming in the ladies race where former Irish Cross Country runner Ann Marie Glynn claimed her first half marathon victory, in a comfortable time of 1.20.03.
This was Mc Glynns first time to compete in this distance and she led from start to finish with her nearest rival over 3 minutes off the pace.
Ann Marie has represented Ireland both at European and World Events in which she led the Irish team.
Another highlight was Claire McGuigan who finished 4th overall in the ladies event picking a prize as well.
In the men’s field Daniel Hannigan was the first home for the club with an impressive 11th place overall. Daniel is now expected to build on recent form and be one of the leading athletes in Donegal and Ulster. Daniel now turns his attention to the Belfast City Marathon in May.
Coach Kevin Connolly has said that he is delighted and proud with all the Senior Athletes, and expects big results over the upcoming season. “The attitude that the athletes are showing in training is superb, and with this the results are starting to show.”
