MALIN GAA CLUB NOTES
RADIO NA GAELTACHTA SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Malin secured a famous victory on Sunday evening over Gaoth Dobhair on a scoreline of Gaoth Dobhair 1-11 Malin 3-08 in what was the shock of the group stages. Despite poor form in the league, mainly through the absence of some key players all year, Malin now advance to the quarter finals where they will play St. Michael’s of Creeslough - Dunfanaghy in a match to be played in two weeks time. Gaoth Dobhair started the match brightly with the first three points but Malin dominated the rest of the first half with the half time score seeing the black and amber ahead on a scoreline of Gaoth Dobhair 0-04 Malin 1-06. Stephen McLaughlin, who played as a sweeper and Matthew Byrne among the scorers with the goal coming from Dan McDaid. The second half saw a Gaoth Dobhair fightback but Malin had enough with excellent performances from the whole team and the goals coming from Dan McDaid and Brendan McLaughlin.

Unfortunately the reserves were beaten in their match with Gaoth Dobhair and miss out on qualification for the quarter finals.

There was no winner of this weeks jackpot of €2150. The numbers drawn were 2-3-6-4-7-1-5 and the €50 winner was Ann McCarron, Doon with the €20 sellers prize going to Christopher McLaughlin, Auchayclay. Next weeks jackpot is €2200. The club took their young lotto ticket sellers for a day out last Tuesday to the bowling alley in Derry and an enjoyable day was had by all, these ticket sellers do great work for the club every week so the club would like to say a big thank you to them all.

Get Fit With Charlie
The summer break is over and its time to get back to fitness! Fitness classes start back up on Monday 7th of September with the 6-week Start Up Programme. Woman’s classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6.30pm , men at 8.00 in the Malin Gaa centre. €60 per person or pay as you go €5 per class. For beginners and people of every fitness level. Keep an eye out on Facebook this week for a special give-away.
