A spring clean of Rathmullan beach and village has been organised on Saturday 13th April from 12noon -3pm. The annual event is organised in support of the nation-wide anti-litter campaign entitled ‘National Spring Clean’.
A scrap metal collection has also been organised on Saturday 13th April from 9am – 6pm. All types of metal are accepted free of charge at the collection point located in the beach car-park.
Any old metal household equipment, farm machinery even old vehicles can be donated to the collection.
Collection of large items can be arranged by contacting Fiona Kelly (087)987-2915. All proceeds from the collection will go towards the Rathmullan Habitat for Humanity Group that are travelling to Malawi in August 2013.
Speaking on the event Fiona said that ‘She hopes the local community will support the fund-raising efforts of the Rathmullan Habitat for Humanity Group by making the metal collection event a success and taking the opportunity to clear old metal from around their houses, farm-yards and businesses’.
Fiona participated in a Habitat for Humanity building project in Madagascar in 2004 and wishes the Rathmullan Group every success with their fundraising and building project in Malawi.
