Big Francies 2 Roartys 5

Roartys completed the treble for the second year running with this 5-2 win over Big Francies. John McGinley/Kieran Carr opened their account with a 2-0 win over John D Gallagher/John Murphy with John finishing tops and Kieran finishing eighteens. Dermot McGuire/Antony Gallagher also won 2-0 by beating Mike Naulty/Antony Gallagher double five by Dermot and double ten by Antony were the game winners. Michael Naulty/Kieran Gallagher put Big Francies on the board with a 2-0 victory over JP Byrne/Michael Byrne double sixteen in the first and 118 in the second by Michael where the finishes.

 

John McGinley put Roartys 3-1 up after a battle with John Murphy, Murphy won the first on double four, John Con also hit double four followed by a 75 outshot to go 2-1 up, Murphy took the game to a tie breaker with a 78 checkout and in the decider a double eighteen finish won it for the Roartys. Dermot McGuire had a 3-0 win over John Damien Gallagher to put Roartys 4-1 up double eight, tops and five were the doubles he took out. Michael Naulty got the Ardara sides second and last game of the night following his 3-1 win over Kieran Carr double tops and a 120 finish put him 2-0 up a double five finish got Kieran back in the match but a double ten finish won the match for Michael. Anthony Gallagher overcame Mike Naulty 3-1 to get the match winning point for Roartys double tops and a 180 in the first and a double eight in the second put him 2-0 up, Mike hit back with a double ten finish but the final darts of the league season where from Anthony as he hit tops to seal the treble. The remaining games were Michael Byrne v Kieran Gallagher and JP Byrne v Anthony Gallagher.

 

2013 B Final

Glenhead 4 O’Donnell’s 5

O’Donnell’s are the B cup champions for the third time following this hard fought win over The Glenhead in the curtain raiser to the league final in The Cope House. Rory’s won the first two doubles with Andrew Gillespie/David Kennedy beating Jason Cunnea/Jamie McNern 2-0 with David finishing the two legs on double ten. Josie Gillespie/Jamesie Boyle beat Barr Carr and Ryan McNern 2-1, Josie finished double three and tops while Barry took out double seven in the first leg. Hugh Doherty/Kenneth Byrne had a 2-0 win over John Gallagher/Damien McBrearty double four and double two checkouts by Hugh put the Glenhead on the board.

 

Andrew Gillespie had a hard fought win over Ryan McNern who came from 2-0 down in a very entertaining match, 118 and double eight checkouts put Andrew 2-0 the first in 15 darts up but 58 and double four checkouts forced a deciding match and Andrew took out on tops to win it, Ryan missed darts to tie up the match. Barry Carr won the next match for the Cashel side with a 3-1 win against Damien McBrearty, double six, eight and four where the checkouts for Barry while tops was Damien’s finish. On paper the next game was billed the match of the night and did not disappoint with John Gallagher beating Hugh Doherty 3-1, Hugh won the first with a 72 checkout but some great darts in the next legs won the match for Menchia, double eight, four and 97 checkouts and a 17 dart final leg put O’Donnell’s 4-2 up.

 

Jason Cunnea started the Glenhead comeback with a 3-0 win over Josie Gillespie, two double two and a double ten finish sealed a steady performance by Jason. Jamie McNern set up a deciding match who he also had a 3-0 win his opponent was David Kennedy, double seven, two and tops where his finishes. In the winner takes all match Jamesie Boyle was the match winner with a 3-2 win against Kenneth Byrne in a match that could have went either way, Kenneth won the first leg on double fourteen, Boyle made it 1-1 with a double eight, a 180 helped Kenneth to win the third leg with Jamesie tying it up with a double fifteen followed by a double eight to seal the win for O’Donnell’s in a very entertaining match!
