He may not be from Donegal but one of the county’s most loved and respected sons will be buried later today.

Tagdh Culbert would have been able to call Letterkenny his home for 40 years next month.

But the local councillor and An Post worker passed from this life all too suddenly on Wednesday.CLLR CULBERT

Tagdh, who was 57, will be buried after 11am funeral mass at St.Eunan’s Cathedral.

A former Mayor of the Town, the Tipperary-born public representative put more into his adopted town than he ever took out.

A recognition of how well he was respected was by the hundreds of people who called to his wake over the past three days.

A large crowd is expected at today’s funeral for a man who will always be remembered for his smile, his sense of fair play and his efforts to make life better for many others.

The funeral will leave his house in Glencar around 10am and make its way down to the High Rd. where Tadgh lived for so long.

The Town Council, Fianna Fáil, St. Eunan’s, Letterkenny Rovers and An Post will all take turns carrying the remains of Tadhg towards St. Eunan’s Cathedral on his final journey down Main St. for 11am Mass. He will go to his eternal reward in New Leck Cemetery following this Mass.

Sleep well Tadhg.
