Different groups and clubs, including St Eunan’s GAA Club, An Post, Letterkenny Rovers and his fellow councillors from Letterkenny Town Council, took turns to carry Tadhg’s remains to the Cathedral.

A massive crowd packed into the church to say a final farewell to Tadhg.

Fr Chambers spoke of the Tipperary man’s huge heart and of the constant smile he greeted people with.

He revealed how Tadhg’s daughter Lisa had contacted him last Tuesday to say her father was getting weaker.

His wife Hilda, son Andrew and many relations who travelled from Tipperary, were also comforted by the huge congregation.

A huge funeral cortege then made its way down Letterkenny’s Main Street and to New Leck Cemetery to leave Tadhg resting overlooking forever the town he loved so well.
