TEENAGER Stacey McGarvey had thought her luck had run out in 2012.
The Milford girl – a student in Limerick – went to Dublin on All-Ireland Sunday hoping to see Donegal take on Mayo in the final.
But not only did the 18-year-old miss the match because she couldn’t get a ticket…..she even managed to have her Donegal jersey stolen.
Today she is celebrating however after winning a framed picture of the Donegal squad, signed by each player and management team including Jim McGuinness.
Stacey entered our Donegal Daily competition in conjunction with the County Board and the Christeph Gallery in Letterkenny.
Just 200 of the prints were made and signed – and finished with a gold seal.
Said Stacey: “I was over the moon when I was told I had won.
“Things certainly didn’t work out for me when it came to the All-Ireland. I couldn’t get a ticket but decided to go up to Dublin anyway and I had the best couple of days craic.
“I’d been to all the other games but unfortunately I didn’t get to see the final. And later on someone stole my Donegal jersey, so it was some weekend.
“Winning this limited edition print certainly made up for it.”
