Missing Mary Boyle’s twin sister Ann has complained to Gardai about the recent dig to find her sister’s body.
Gardai used a JCB to excavate a quarter acre site just 100 metres from where Mary was last seen in Cashelard near Ballyshannon in 1977.
It follows a scan by a geophysical company Scantech who identified a possible burial site in the area.
However before they could finalise their report, Gardai carried out a dig.
Now Ann Boyle has called on the Garda ombudsman to investigate the dig.
“The Gardai had come in looking for a body when it was more likely they would find evidence of a temporary resting place or grave. All those clues appear to be gone,” said Ann.
