Due to inclement weather the Ladies and Gents Classic was postponed until a later date. Thanks to those teams that had entered and we look forward to seeing you at the rescheduled event.

Last week’s competition, sponsored by County Seat, was won by Celine Markey with 35 points. Vera Kearney came second with 35 points and Tracey Spence came third, also on 35 points. Well done ladies.

Our Donegal Shield team went forth to North West to try to regain the trophy, last won by Letterkenny Ladies in 2010. Unfortunately it was not to be but well done to all. In our other teams, the news is mixed. The Challenge team were beaten by Fintona and so ends their campaign for this year. The Junior team won 4 matches out of 5 with 14 holes up in their first leg home match against Newtownstewart. They play the return away match at 4.30pm on May 10th. The Intermediate team plays its home match against Nairin and Portnoo on May 3rd. Once again, thanks to all the ladies from the Letterkenny Supporters Club and to all the players, team captains and assistants.

The Donegal Ladies Golf Tournament will be held during shortly, the Letterkenny Open being the first day of play on Tuesday 14th May. For more details, please contact Karen McGlinchey or visit 2013 Donegal Ladies Golf Tournament Facebook page.

ILGU (Ulster) is holding the Ulster Open Fourball Betterball Open Competition in Letterkenny Golf Club on Monday 10th June.
