ONE of Donegal’s biggest employers has unveiled its new boss.
Caroline Faulkner has been named senior managing director and head of Letterkenny’s Pramerica Systems Ireland Limited.
She replaces Henry McGarvey who stepped down earlier this year to pursue other business interests.

Her proven skills and ability, depth of knowledge, dedication to quality service and commitment to community service make her the perfect choice to lead Pramerica into its future,” said John Fox, vice president, Global Business & Technology Solutions at PFI.
“As one of our original seven employees, Caroline played a key role in Pramerica’s success. Since then, I have been continually impressed with her ability to lead business projects that are critical to the success of our PFI business partners.”
Ms. Faulkner, who is also senior vice president and chief information officer at Pramerica, collaborates with PFI senior executives to help ensure continuous business improvement through cost reduction, quality improvements, innovation and risk mitigation, said the company.
Ms. Faulkner joined Pramerica as senior programme manager when the company was established in 2000. In 2002, she was promoted to director of information systems and became chief information officer in 2010.
In 2006, Ms. Faulkner was awarded PFI’s “Rock Solid Leadership” award for her strong people management and collaboration skills.
Over the years, she has forged close working relationships between Pramerica, FAS Ireland and the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) to develop educational programmes that have created a pipeline of talented and prepared information technology professionals.
Prior to joining Pramerica, Ms. Faulkner was an information technology manager for Abbott Laboratories, a U.S. pharmaceutical company with five facilities in Ireland.
Ms. Faulkner has a bachelor’s degree in computing science from the University of Ulster; a master’s degree in Leadership and Innovation from LYIT; and a diploma in accounting and finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
She is a member of the CIO Executive Council and the CIO European Research Board. She served on the LYIT Board of Governance for several years and was chair of its Audit Committee.
Pramerica Systems Ireland provides essential computer-technology and client-contact services to PFI businesses around the world.
Its Information Technology Group develops software and other systems solutions for PFI business groups and its Operations Group functions as a back-office contact centre for PFI business group.
