Three men were arrested in connection with the recent spate of copper wire thefts across the Fanad Peninsula.
The men were arrested following a lengthy investigation by Gardai in recent months.
There have been at least ten separate incidents involving the theft of ESB and telephone wires.
It is believed sophisticated machinery was used to strip the copper wire out of the cables.
There have been thefts of wire at numerous locations including Fanad, Portsalon, Carrigart and Milford.
The three men were arrested earlier this week but were released without charge.
A file on the incident has been prepared and will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution.
