Saturday’s game seen Kilcar start strong against the Black N Amber men, however, mid-way through the first half Malin fought back. Points from Stephen Mc Laughlin and Seamus Houghton along with a goal from Brendan Mc Laughlin, seen Malin leading at Half Time with a score line of 0:04 to 1:04. In the second- half Kilcar, responded and used the wind advantage placing Malin under increased pressure. Two subsequence goals towards the end of the second half ensured a Kilcar win. Final Score: Kilcar 3:13 Malin 1:08. Both Senior and Reserve Teams are expected to travel to Killybegs on Saturday, with throw in times of Reserves 6pm and Seniors 7:30pm.
LADIES FOOTBALL:
Ladies Football training continues on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s between 8pm- 9pm. There will be a possible friendly match with Carn on Wednesday night, throw in time and venue to be confirmed.
GIRLS FOOTBALL:
U16/U14 Girls continue to train on Wednesday’s at 5:15pm.
U12 Girls continue to train on Wednesdays at 4:15pm
U10/U8/U6 continue to train on Saturday mornings at 11:15am till 12:15, all sessions are €2.
BOYS FOOTBALL:
U6 age group continue to train within the Club Gym on Sunday mornings from 10am -11:15am.The sessions are based on GAA Fundamentals; a Croke Park initiative based on research aimed at bettering your child’s coordination (including hand eye) balance, agility and basic fitness in a fun filled environment. It is also an introduction into the basic skills of Gaelic games. All children are welcome to attend.
U8 age group continue to train on Sunday mornings at 11am to 12:30pm, also within the Club Gym. All underage sessions are €2.
U10 age group continue train on Sunday’s from 12:30 to 1:30pm.
U14 Training takes place on Monday from 5-6 and on Thursday from 4.30 to 6.00.
HURLING:
U10/U12 Boys and Girls Hurling continue on Friday Evenings from 6pm-7pm. All equipment provided €2 per session.
MALIN CUL CAMPS:
Cul Camps dates have been set for the 15th to 19th of July, registration forms will be given out to all children at the beginning of June.
GO GAMES:
U8 Go Games began on Saturday the 4th, in which Malin played Muff, the next Go Games for this age group will be Saturday 18th of May. The U10 Go Games will begin this Saturday at 11am, please check out Clubs Facebook page for more information during the week.
U16 FINAL:
After defeating Urris with an impressive score line of 1:16 to 1:04, Malin U16 team will take on Burt in the Inis Eoghain A Final next Sunday 12th of April. All Support is needed for this final which is set to take place at 7pm in Burt.
MR & MRS:
The club will be holding a Mr & Mrs Competition, on Saturday 25th of May. Money raised by the Mr & Mrs competition will go towards purchasing new equipment for the Club Gym. Tickets priced at €10 and will be available during the week.
LIVE TO PLAY ROAD SAFETY COLOURING COMPETITION:
Congratulations to Urblereagh National School and to our Under-age players who were joint winners in the 2013 Live to Play Road Safety Colouring Competition that was run by the Ulster GAA Council.
ITEMS TO BE RETURNED:
It is asked that anyone that has items borrowed from the Club is asked to return them, for example tables and chairs.
COFFEE DAY:
There will be a Coffee day on the 10th of May in the Good as New Shop, Pound St. Business Park, Carn. All proceeds will go to Oncology and Palliative Care.
MALIN GAA PRIVATE LEAGUE WINNNERS:
Congratulations to young Conor Mc Laughlin from Shantla who was the winner of the Malin GAA Private League in the Gaelic Life NFL fantasy football competitions. Also Well Done to Paul Martin Mc Daid in Boston who came out on top in the Malin GAA Private League in the Allianz NFL prediction competition.
LOTTO:
There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €800. The €50 winner was Colm Curley, Maragard, Malin, with N & R Kelly receiving the €20 seller’s prize. Winning sequence was 5-7-6-4-2-3-1.
