The Sargasso restaurant continues to grow from strength to strength, and it’s ever enhancing reputation was increased again after it was announced that the Letterkenny based restaurant was this year’s Ulster Winner of the Bord Bia Award for their Just Ask campaign.
Sargasso have always supported local food suppliers to their customers and are proud to do so, they provided customers with the information as part of the just ask campaign as to where they get their local produce.
The Sargasso supply chain is very short, with most of their produce sourced within a 10-15 mile radius in nearby Convoy, St. Johnston, Raphoe and slightly farther afield along the coast of Killybegs and Clonmany.
Their menus change with the season to provide fresh seasonal ingredients and variety for our customers.
Sargasso’s dry aged Beef and Lamb is supplied by McCarron’s of Raphoe, their Seafood is landed in Killybeg’s and supplied to them by Albatross Seafoods.
Their Chicken is sourced from Noone’s Farm Fresh Poultry in Clonmany, Turkey from Pearson’s, St Johnston and organic Tamworth Pork from Hamilton’s Farm, St Johnston.
Their Dairy products and soft Cheeses are from Natural Dairies/Yeats Country in Convoy.
Vegetables and Fruit are supplied by Sean Doherty in Letterkenny and Donegal Fruit Company and potatoes come from Craig’s Potatoes in Raphoe.
A selection of new season farm vegetables, salads, herbs and fruit are supplied fresh from a local farmer in nearby Glenswilly.
