DONEGAL delegates at a nursing union conference today backed strike action.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, meeting at the Mount Errigal Hotel, voted unanimously to back an emergency motion supporting a strike.
INMO general secretary Liam Doran welcomed the vote.
“It’s time for nurses to stop apologising for having a job,” he said.
He got a standing ovation as he explained why the union had rejected the Croke Park II deal and warned: “You are not voting for strike action, the TDs who vote to take money from your pay will be voting for strike action,” he said.
