THERE are power cuts in several areas of Co Donegal tonight – as the county is lashed by a storm.
A number of homes in Gaoth Dobhair, Fanad and Inishowen have lost power.
The storm is expected to fizzle out in the early hours.
Despite the high winds, the scheduled Flybe.com flight from Dublin to Carrickfin did arrive, although it was 45 minutes late.
Driving conditions across the county were very poor earlier.
Gardai say cross winds – particularly over the gap between Donegal Town and Ballybofey – caused difficulties for motorists.
The storm – with 130 km/hr winds – blew a trampoline in Letterkenny into the middle of the road.
A roof was blown off a shed in Ramelton.
Despite one report that winds would subside by 10pm, they actually got stronger.
