GAA: ST EUNAN’S GAA CLUB NEWS – MINOR BOYS CELEBRATE COUNTY TITLE

eunan's minorsCongratulations to Christy Gillespie, his management team and the Minor footballers on winning the All County Minor League Div. 1 title on Friday night in Killygordon over a very good Dungloe side on a score of 1-10 to 1-06. They will now take a break from matches for exams.

The Seniors and Reserves met N. Conaill on Sunday in the Park, with both teams getting convincing victories in these championship dress rehearsals. They are due to take on Ardara in a Star fixture (no county players) at home next Sunday.

The Juniors continued their good start to the season with a home win over Ardara, they are at home again this Saturday to N. Conaill, throw-in at 7:30pm.

The Senior Hurlers travel to Setanta for a league game this week. They were beaten by Aodh Ruadh in their last outing.

The U14 Boys Div. 1had no game this week after last week’s Northern Board League success The Div. 2 team defeated Termon last week and neighbours Glenswilly on Monday night and will finish their league campaign at home this Wednesday (May 15th) to Letterkenny Gaels. This team will also take part in this year’s Féile Peil ne nÓg as a host team in div. 5. Their visitors will be St. Anne’s from Dublin.

The U14 girls will also host this year in Division 2 and their visiting team is West Clare Gaels. Training for the U14 girls is on Wednesday as usual at 6.30pm. A friendly match against Termon is in the Park with a 6pm throw-in on Friday.

The Minor Hurlers finished their League campaign with a fine win away to Carndonagh on Thursday despite some of the older player being unavailable. Nevertheless the lads put on a fine scoring display winning 3-15 to 3-09 with the majority of the scores coming from play. The U14 Hurlers lost out to a strong Buncrana team last week and play Burt this Thursday at home. U16 and Minor hurling training continues Tuesdays at 5pm all welcome.

The Golf Scramble takes place on Saturday week (May 25th) at Letterkenny Golf club with the winning team getting a VIP Day for the Donegal v Tyrone game. Teams of 4 for €100. Contact James Friel 086-8255474 or John Coleman 087-2318601 to book your tee time.

There will be a Country Dance in the Clubhouse this Saturday, May 18th with all proceeds to the boys U14 team that is travelling to Féile next month. Admission is just €7 and supper is included. Tickets are available from any squad member or Mary Maguire on 086-0870446.

U12 Boys Go Games begins next Monday (May 20th) with the U12 team at home to Cloughaneely and the U11’s making the trip to face Robert Emmett’s in Castlefin. Both games throw-in at 7pm.

There were 6 winners that each matched 3 numbers and win €20 in this week’s Lotto draw. The numbers were: 1-2-9-23. Anthony Farren, Balleighan; Pauric Daly, Lisnennan; Aidan McGlynn, Rockhill; Dermot Higgins, Lurgy; Ciaran McIntyre, Fernhill (all card) and Collette Gallagher, Churchill Rd, Glenties (Adrian).
