The RTE Radio One John Murray Show will be broadcasting live from Jacksons Hotel, Ballybofey on Friday morning from 9 to 10am as part of the SAM Sport Aiding Mental Health Conference.
Said Mayor Frank McBrearty: “I am delighted that RTÉ is supporting the National Conference on Sport Aiding Mental-Health (SAM) by broadcasting the very popular John Murray Show live from Jacksons Hotel, just before the beginning of the conference.
“This show has more than 500,000 listeners nationwide and this is a great vote of confidence by RTÉ both for the conference and for what we are trying to do in terms of promoting positive mental health and highlighting the services and supports that are available.”
Miriam O’Callaghan who has been presenting the John Murray Show for the last number of weeks will also be presenting the SAM Conference which looks set to be an inspirational day and a must for anyone with an interest in sport and mental health.
Speakers on the day will include Jim McGuinness, Dr. Tony Bates, Minister Kathleen Lynch and a number of inspiring and motivating individuals who have experienced mental health issues and who want to share their stories so that they can give others hope and encourage anyone who is experiencing mental health problems to seek help and to know that recovery is a reality.
