We had over a 100 members selling tickets, programmes, manning the shops,dressing rooms, making sandwiches and a litany of other jobs. You all showed yourselves to be true Gaa people and are a credit to our club. Thank you to one and all.
DONEGAL HURLING.
What a weekend for Donegal Gaa. On Sat the Hurlers took on Monaghan in O Donnell Park. The winners would book a place for themselves in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final in Croke Park. Donegal started slowly and at half time were trailing 2-05 to 1-05 at half time. The introduction at half time of Mac Cumhaills man Lee Henderson changed the game. Lee finished with 2-03 for 35 mins play. Well done to all the Mac Cumhaills men involved with the team. A great result and this team deserves all GAA supporters to follow them to Dublin for the final.
DONEGAL FOOTBALL
The day finally came and the Footballers certainly didn’t let us down. They fought hard for every ball and never slackened off. It was great to see the introduction of our own Marty O Reilly at half time and he put in a great performance. He used the ball well, covered a lot of ground and did everything that was asked of him. Well done Marty. A great start to the Championship. We are now in the Ulster Semi Finals on the 23rd June. Anyone wishing to get tickets for the match, can give their name to any executive member.
SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The Seniors and Reserves are out this Sat in the first round of the Championship. We will be taking on our neighbours in Mac Cumhaill Park at 6.00pm and 7.30pm. Please come and support the lads.
CAMOGIE FUNDRAISER
As you may know, our Under 14 Camogie team qualified to represent Donegal in the All Ireland Feile Na nGael in Limerick in July. We are hosting a fundraiser in Kees Hotel on June 15th to help cover the expenses. The Beefstake Dancers will provide the music on what promises to be a great nights entertainment. A donation will be made to the Local Cancer Bus Fund. Tickets are €10 and can be obtained from Geraldine Kennedy, Mags Gillespie, Don Browne or Alan Martin. Please support the girls.
