Letterkenny businessman Josie Murray and toiled away at his chosen sport, Jiu Jitsu, for more years than he can remember.
But the soft-spoken sportsman, who runs Josie’s Bar at Lower Main Street, received his just rewards for his dedication at the weekend.
Josie has become the first person in Ireland to be made Grand Master of the sport.
Josie received the award in Orlando, Florida after a number of amazing fights.
Two of his students, Kieran McMenamin and Mairead Mackey, were in America to see Josie win his Grand Master’s Award.
Later today he is expected to be met at Dublin Airport by Minister for Sport Michael Ring in recognition of his achievement.
Congratulations Josie on your amazing achievement.
