Club Notes –Naomh Adhamhnáin
The Seniors began their defence of the Dr. Maguire Cup with a good win over a strong Malin side on Saturday coming out on top by 2-10 to 1-08.
The Reserves had a big win in their game running out winners by 2-15 to 0-05. Both teams may be in championship action away to Cloughaneely this weekend but it is not confirmed yet.
The Junior men continued their good start to the league by taking top spot in the table after a good win over Glenfin last Thursday night, 4-15 to 2-03. They are due to take on MacCumhaills away this week.
The Senior hurlers had no game last week but they are due to take on Aodh Ruadh this Wednesday evening at home, throw in is at 7:30pm.
Best of luck to Sean McVeigh, Colm Flood, Kevin Meehan and Conor McVeigh who will line out as part of the Donegal Senior Hurling squad that will take on Roscommon in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final this Saturday (June 8th) in Croke Park with a 2pm throw-in and also to coach Aide Gaffney.
The Senior Ladies travelled to Glenfin on Sunday minus a few players and went down by a single point despite fielding a very young team.
They are now on a break for a few weeks for exams.
The U14 Boys scraped through to the Northern Board Championship Final after a close win over a good St. Mary’s, Convoy team by 3-14 to 3-08.
They will meet either MacCumhaills or Gaoth Dobhair in the Final. They will also take on Bundoran in the all county league semi-final.
The Div. 2 team lost their Shield semi-final to a physically strong Carndonagh team and are due to meet Malin away in the Championship this Wednesday.
The U14 Hurlers play at home this Thursday in the B-League semi-Final against Dungloe at 7pm. Congratulations to Niall O’Donnell, Conor O’Grady and Caoimhin O’Lionnain who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the U16 County Puc Fada competition.
Niall will now represent the County at the forthcoming Ulster Competition. Also, congratulations to Paddy Flood who came 2nd in the Veteran Competition narrowly losing out to Ray Durack, County Senior Hurling Manager.
U16 and Minor training continues every Tuesday at 5pm.
The U12’s were due to travel to Termon on Monday night for Go Games while the U11′s were at home to N. Colmcille, see next week’s notes for details.
The Sunday Morning Academy will be back this Sunday (June 9th) at 11am after taking the Bank Holiday off.
Donegal wristbands are now available from the club shop with the proceeds going to aid the U14 Div. 2 boys team and U14 Girls participation in Féile.
