Mr. and Mrs – the popular television game show that was first broadcast in the 1960s – will be live on stage, Donegal style, next Friday, July 19th, in the Mount Errigal Hotel.  Martin Kelly

Organised by Kelly’s Centra, Mountain Top, it promises to be a great night of entertainment as five local couples will battle it out for the honours as the audience hears them try and answer the questions – and to see if they really know everything about their respective spouses.

The event will also benefit four local charities: SNAP (Special Needs Accessible Park); Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Little Angels School; and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The show is also tied in with the charity parachute jump over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, which will also see proceeds going to the same four charities.

The proprietor of Kelly’s Centra Mountain Top Mairtin Kelly is a huge supporter of local community events.

A keen deep-sea diver, his adventurous streak is now going the other way – around 10,000 feet above sea-level.

Indeed, he will be one of around 300 people jumping for the charities in August, and no fewer than five staff members have also bravely volunteered, namely: Gary Glackin, Lee O’Donnell, Fiona Duffy, Regina Bonner and Nicola McGrenra.

The Mr & Mrs Show, which follows a tried and trusted template – bound to generate a few laughs – is a Lee Gooch Production.

The well known local radio presenter is compere on the night – and is also going to be one of the parachute jumpers in August.

The five couples taking part are: Chris Ashmore (of the Letterkenny Post) and his wife Paula; Ray Durack (the Donegal Senior Hurling manager) and his wife Maureen; Paddy Hannigan (One of Donegal’s foremost hurlers) and his wife Aine; Manus Kelly (well known local rally driver) and his wife Berni; and Michael McBride (the Kilmacrennan-based councillor) and his wife Rachel.

Tickets, just €10 each, are currently on sale from Kelly’s Centra Mountain Top, or you can pay at the door. The show begins at 9.00 pm and is strictly over 18s. DJ Paul McDevitt will be providing the music afterwards. For further details, contact Susan on 086 6065912.
