Donegal manager Jim McGuinness has revealed he is wary of the hunger and motivation Monaghan will have on Sunday and said there is striking similarities between Monaghan and the Donegal class of 2011. Jim McGuinness

McGuinness feels that Monaghan who are trying to bridge a 25 year gap in taking the Anglo Celt back to the Farney County will have the same hunger as Donegal did in 2011 when they won their first Ulster Championship crown for 19 years.

McGuinness said,

“I know how we were in 2011, we were ravenous just to get over the line and get the mokey off the back so to speak.”

“Monaghan are bringing that to the table now, they will come with that attitude and desire, the attitude of ‘this is our day’ that can be dangerous and we have to be focused on the challenge that we face.”

“For me Conor McManus is in the top 5 forwards in the country, he is top quality, and he will be someone that we will need to stop.”

“We have the bring the same attitude to the table that Monaghan will bring if we want to get ourselves over the line.”
