THE FAMILY of a Donegal man last seen a week ago has revealed that their fears grew when he failed to get in touch on his birthday.
Barry Doherty, from Carndonagh, was visiting his father in Paisley, Scotland, last week.
His father saw him last Monday evening; but no-one has seen Barry since then.
Barry turned 25 last Thursday but none of his family or friends had any communication with him.
He left his phone behind in Donegal and his sister Cathie gave that to Scottish police yesterday as part of their inquiries into his whereabouts.
His many friends and family in both Scotland and Inishowen have been drawing up posters in their bid to find Barry.
Said his sister Cathie last night: “There has been nothing to report unfortunately.
“Just back from meeting (one of the) police officers working on Barry’s case. We were able to hand in Barry’s phone (as he’d left it behind him in Ireland) and there are several numbers in there we don’t know – or hadn’t been able to get through to.”
She told Barry’s friends to answer any calls they may receive from police over the coming days.
