THREE MEN PLEAD GUILTY TO BEING BEHIND DONEGAL DRUGS FACTORY

Three men have pleaded guilty to being behind a massive drugs grow-house along the Donegal border.

The three men all appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court where they were each charged with possession of cannabis for sale or supply.

The men – Neil Closs, Brian Irwin and Neville Leech – were also charged with cultivating cannabis plants.

The men were arrested following a Garda operation at Kildrum, Lower Carrigans on January 13th, 2010.

At the time of the incident almost €500,000 worth of cannabis was recovered in a Garda raid on a property.

Full details of the Garda operation will be given at the next sitting of the court in October.

Neville Leech, 37, of Pearse Park, Drogheda, Neil Stewart Closs, 33, of Corbettstown, Ballyboyle, Co Kilkenny and Brian Irwin, 32, of The Orchard, Croke Gardens, Thurles, Tipperary were all remanded on bail.

The men were all ordered to hand over their driving licenses to the court for fear they could be used to leave the country.

Probation reports were also ordered on all the men.
