National Show Jumping Championships
Patricia Warren, Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, produced the fastest clear round of the day to win the Advanced Intermediate title at the Association of Irish Riding Clubs (AIRC) Connolly’s Red Mills National Show Jumping Championships at Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Co. Westmeath last Sunday. The Donegal Gaeltacht rider’s time of 34.35 seconds wasn’t matched by any other competitor in the arena throughout the day in a championship jump-off.
Patricia was one of only 5 riders who made it through to the jump-off in the advanced intermediate final. Warren, a master of the jump off, was second in to jump on her 15 year old bay gelding, He’s A Dandy, and shaved over three seconds off the target of 37.67 seconds, which was set by pathfinder Mary Corcoran from Tipperary, riding Super Connected. Mary claimed the blue ribbon for 2nd place. Warren, who is an Equestrian Coach, was AIRC Show Jumping Champion in 2010 and in 2011, and is based at Killult Stables, in the Falcarragh/Gortahork area.
