DONEGAL County Council staff who could face redundancy when Irish Water takes over the country’s water supply from local authorities have been given a glimmer of hope today.
Irish Water will open eight centres across the country – and one of them will open in Donegal Town, creating up to 32 new positions.
It means staff who could lose jobs at the council will be able to apply for the jobs.
“This is good news for council staff,” said one staff member today.
