Donegal ladies are trailing Westmeath by 5 points at half-time in the 1st round of the ladies All-Ireland qualifiers in Carrick-On-Shannon.
Donegal have enjoyed lengthy spells of possession but have been unable to convert their dominance on the scoreboard and have been very wasteful in the final third kicking a number of wides.
Westmeath themselves have been guilty of passing up a number of good opportunities to extend their lead having been denied by a combination of poor decision making and good Donegal defending.
The game is still very much in the balance, hopefully the Ladies can improve in the second half and make it a Donegal double in Leitrim today with the men’s senior team playing after them against Laois at 5pm.
