Gaoth Dobhair man and Donegal defender Neil McGee has issued a rally cry prior to this weekend’s quarter final clash with Mayo, declaring their over the hurt of the Ulster Final defeat and are only looking forward from here on in.
McGee who scored a stunning point in the second half against Laois last week and led by example throughout the Round 4 qualifier insists the hurt is gone and that him and his Donegal team mates are focused solely on retaining the Sam Maguire.
McGee said,
“There was a lot of hurt there from the last day, but there is absolutely no point looking back on hurt.”
“The best way is to take it out on the ball whether your defending or attacking and on Saturday evening we did that.”
“We were all desperately disappointed last week. We were hurt but we had to bottle that hurt.”
“There is no point in looking back, the Monaghan game was one of those days they picked us off but now we are going to move on.”
“We beat Laois and were focused to take on Mayo hopefully we get over the line and into the semi-final we’re only looking forward now.”
