A hospital hotline has been set up by the North’s health service for Donegal patients affected by the Letterkenny hospital floods crisis.
As part of its support for patients from the Letterkenny catchment area at Altnagelvin Hospital, the Trust has opened a temporary information line as the Donegal hospital continues to count the cost of flooding which knocked 40% of services, including Accident and Emergency out of commission.
Donegal patients can now call the Western Trust on 048 71296201, from Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm
The line is up and running and will be operational as long as it is necessary. Patients will be given information on the current services available at Letterkenny General Hospital which is also providing a general information line on 074 9109160.
Geraldine McKay, Director of Acute Services with the Western Trust said Altnagelvin Hospital continues to play an important part in the contingency arrangements in supporting Letterkenny General Hospital.
“Altnagelvin Hospital has been providing support since Friday evening and is coping well with the additional attendances from patients in the Letterkenny catchment area. This temporary information line will ensure accurate information is available to patients who may be unsure of how to access services,” she said in a statement today.
