CRASH LATEST: The two young men who died in this morning’s horrific crash in Rathmullan have been named locally as Shaun Graham and Matthew Crawford.
Both men were friends from Letterkenny who had been socialising in the area.
They are believed to have been the back-seat passengers in a car which crashed into a wall and tree on the Upper Knockalla Road just after 3am.
Both men were killed instantly at the scene.
Two other young men, one from Glenswilly and another from Churchill, were airlifted by the Rescue 118 helicopter to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
Their injuries are not now understood to be life-threatening.
The late Mr Graham, 19, was from the Ballymacool area.
The well-known young man worked at the Quiet Moment Tea Rooms which is owned by his uncle Brendan McGlynn.
His parents Michael and Catriona, two brothers and sister are being comforted by family and friends this morning.
Mr Crawford was from Elmwood Downs.
Messages of sympathy are flooding in on Facebook for the two young men.
The men had been socialising in Rathmuallan and were driving to a house party when the accident happened.
Garda forensics teams have sealed off the area of the crash.
A full investigation to find out the reasons for the smash has started.
