A trio of Donegal athletes ended their season on a high over the weekend in the Celtic games in Colwyn Bay, Wales a competition between the best young under 18 athletes in Scotland, Ireland and Wales .
John Kelly got out to a personal best in the shot at 18.43m rounding off an excellent period which included the world youth champs in Ukraine.

Castlefinn 5k on Friday evening last saw a win for Gerard Gallagher who the previous weekend had run a 5k on the track in the nationals . In those same nationals Dempsey Mc Guigan really unfortunate in the hammer losing out by 1 centimetre to finish 4th .
The majority of athletes with the exception of the combined events and community Games are on a break to return to action August 20th .
