An emergency evacuation has taken place six miles North of Inishowen Head after the Malin Head Coastguard received a distress call from the Yacht High Spirits. Image may be NSFW.

The skipper of the yacht called for assistance after a crew member sustained a serious arm injury while on board the yacht.
The search and rescue helicopter 118 based in Sligo and the Greencastle Coastguard boat were both deployed to the scene.
The rescue operation was hampered by difficult weather conditions and high seas.
Thankfully the operation was successful and the injured party was eventually winched on to the helicopter were he was then taken to Altnagelvin Hospital.
The search and rescue was co-ordinated by the Malin Head Coastguard.
