Finn Harps Manager, Peter Hutton, has appealed to the North West soccer supporting public to come out and support his team in Friday night’s Airtricity League First Division fixture against Waterford United at Finn Park.
Harps have won each of their last two home games and another victory on Friday would put them right back in the hunt for promotion and within touching distance of a play-off spot.
Just a little more than 200 fans turned up at Finn Park last friday to watch Harps put in a super display to beat Salthill Devon.
Hutton said that a big crowd cheering on his team can only help the players during the game.
“You only need to look at games earlier in the season when we had a decent crowd, the atmosphere really galvanised the players and they fed off that support and it truly spurred them on,” said Hutton.
“Prime examples being the home win against Longford and the League cup game against Derry in which the team were exceptional.
“I genuinely hope we get a crowd that really gets behind the boys, this bunch of players have worked extremely hard for little if any financial reward from early December last year to get the chance to play in games like this, games that can define a season and they certainly deserve the vocal support of the Donegal footballing public.”
Friday’s game against Waterford kicks-off at 8.00pm.
