DONEGAL’S Brendan Boyce has recorded a personal best time of 3:54:24 and finished in a superb 25th position behind Rob Heffernan’s Gold Medal Walk in the 50k at the World Championships today.
Team manager Patsy McGonagle told Donegal Daily: “It is a glorious day for Irish athletics; it’s only Ireland’s third ever gold medal at a world athletics championships.
“Rob was in stunning form and we are simply over the moon for him.
“Brendan had the walk of his life today; it’s a great day for Donegal athletics and a wonderful one for the country.”
