NAOMH Conaill are through to the Centra Supermarkets U-21 County Final after a convincing 10-point win over Cloughaneely at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny this afternoon.
Cloughaneely led just once in the match when they struck the first point in the opening minutes but once Naomh Conaill drew level within a minute, they raced into the lead.
An O’Malley goal just before the break left the Glenties men 1-06 to 0-02 ahead at half time.
And Naomh Conaill continued benefitting from their superior possession in the second half, restricting Cloughaneely to few chances whilst adding to their superior tally.
Cloughaneely managed just four points – two in each half – largely due to the excellent Naomh Conaill defence.
In the end Naomh Conaill, inspired by both O’Malley and county star Dermot Brick Molloy won by ten points 1-11 to 0-04.
It’s Naomh Conaill’s seventh consecutive U-21 final appearance.
