RESERVE FOOTBALL

The Reserve Team recorded an impressive victory away to Termon on Sunday last.

The team showed 6 changes from last weeks victory over Cloughaneely but still contained a healthy mix of players from our Minor/U21 Panel with some of our experienced campaigners.

Played in dry conditions, Mac Cumhaillsstarted the game very brightly and raced into an early lead with first half goals coming from Stephen Mulligan and Mickey Patton.

Termon were awarded a dubious penalty near the end of the first half, however the resulting spot kick was magnificently saved by goalkeeper Eoghan Farah Gallen who indeed reacted very well to also save the follow up attempt.

HALF TIME SCORE;Termon 0:06, Sean Mac Cumhaills 2:07.

Termon made some positional changes in the forward line and were rewarded in the second half with an early goal. Mac Cumhaillshowever reacted in impressive fashion scoring several more points to keep a safe gap on the scoreline.

Mac Cumhaills were then awarded a penalty when Mickey Patton was dragged down in the small rectangle.

Young Aaron Kelly stepped up to score the resulting penalty in emphatic fashion. Both teams exchanged further points to leave theFinal Score Termon 1:09, Sean MacCumhaills 3:13

This was a very good team performance from our lads.

In addition, both Karl Hughes and Daniel Gallagher made their debuts for the Reserve Team yesterday and now join a long list players from our Minor Panel who have played with the Reserve Panel this year so far.
