By Patsy McGonagle: FINN VALLEY AC athlete Teresa McGloin won the prestigious Laganside 10k Sunday in Belfast returning 36-06 off an even paced run through 5k in 17.18 which sets her up for a number of quality road and cross country events in the months ahead.
Teresa is pictured with proud cousin Deirdre Connolly and Belfast Lord Mayor Mártin O Muilleoir.
Elsewhere in Belfast Bosco Reid won shot and discus in the Ulster Master T/F and Helen Stockdale was seriously busy winning the Master 800,1500 and 3k with a silver thrown into the mix in the 400 .
On the road a large contingent headed for the Zach o Donnell 5k Friday night in Convoy while in Sunday morning Oisin Gallen came home alone to win Crumlin Hospital 5k at Valley
In the States Sarah Collins got her collegiate season off to a low key start coming home in front with 2 Providence teammates to set up a team win.
Training has been very encouraging good squads and enthusiasm in Drumboe Forest led by energetic coaches so all set for another season .
Cross country dates and venues out this week and a training day in Ballyliffin to look forward to and Schools cross country Sept 25/25 at Valley . All schools have been notified.
