IT may well be a miserable September Thursday today with loads of rain – but don’t worry another blast of summer is on the way for this weekend.
Forecasters say temperatures could top 20C this weekend in County Donegal as hot air from a Florida storm centres over Ireland…without the storm!
Met Eireann and independent weather websites reckon Donegal will start to warm up on Saturday and steadily increase through Sunday.
And then we could see temperatures into the low 20s for the WHOLE OF NEXT WEEK!
Peter O’Donnell from Irish Weather Online says we’re getting another 2013 warm spell….in the autumn.
“This may not prove to be the best summer/early autumn ever, but it has provided its share of fine weather and another pleasant spell is foreseen for part if not all of next week,” he said.
“Highs could reach the lower 20s inland. Extensive fog and coastal low cloud may accompany this spell due to light or even calm winds under high pressure.”
Met Eireann agreed.
It says: “The trend for early next week is for mainly dry, warm weather, by day, with sunny spells at times most days. Temperatures should be in the high teens and occasionally 20 or 21 C. But the nights will be cool, with occasional mists and fog.”
Should save on the coal, turf and oil for a few days!
