The owner of the Buttercup Tearoom in Ballybofey has today announced that she is closing the business.

The quaint cafe, tucked off Main Street Ballybofey, has been opened for three years.

Owned by chef Kerry Lee Rowan, the 24-seater cafe was a popular place for tea, treats and homemade specials.

Ms Rowan announced on Facebook that it’s time to start a new chapter.

“Sometimes in life we have to make choices , hard ones. But these choices will change our lives for the better so for that reason we are not renewing the lease and today we closed our little Tearoom,” Ms Rowan wrote.

“We have had 3 good busy years and have made so many new friends from far and near. I’m so proud of myself for achieving my dream and it was a huge success.

“Thanks to each and everyone of you that has walked through our doors. You will never know how much it was appreciated ❤

“I’m already looking forward to the next chapter,” she said.

The announcement has been met with sadness from customers who will miss the unique cafe, while many people have commented to wish Kerry well on her next step.
