THE world’s biggest fishing trawler has arrived in Killybegs after a fisheries protection operation by the Irish Navy.
It docked in the Co Donegal port a short time ago (1am).
The Dutch-registered Annelies Ilena, formerly the Atlantic Dawn, was board off Tory Island after “irregular” behaviour at sea.
Crew from the LE Roisin ordered the ship’s captain to make for land after allegations of breaches of EU fishing regulations.
The Annelies Ilena is 144m weighs more than 14,000 tonnes.
Gardai and the Sea Fisheries Protection Authority are also involved in the investigation.
They will begin questioning the crew later today (Saturday).
