FORECASTERS have issued a weather warning as a deep Low Pressure system from the Atlantic comes ashore.
Winds reaching 80km/h are on their way to Donegal as a storm lashes the county on Friday.
It could also bring with it up to 40mm of rainfall in the next 24 hours, creating a new hazard on the roads for motorists.
The Meteo Times forecaster Peter O’Donnell says it could also bring snow on Friday night to higher ground in Donegal.
But temperatures are rising again, taking away the ice risks caused in recent days.
The Arranmore Ferry has warned anyone using its services on Friday to check first.
“Due to severe weather warnings for Friday 25th of January anyone travelling on the 7.00pm or 9.00pm sailing to Arranmore are advised to check with our office first,” said a spokesman.
