Donegal Sinn Féin TDs Pearse Doherty and Padraig MacLóchlainn will meet with the Assistant Garda Commissioner Kieran Kenny in Ballyshannon today.
The meeting will discuss the rise in burglaries and the closure of Garda stations across Donegal.
Speaking in advance of the meeting the Deputies said “This meeting has been secured with the Assistant Garda Commissioner on our request to discuss the level of Garda resources in Donegal, the closure and downgrading of local Garda stations, including the removal of the Glenties District Headquarters and the growing number of burglaries in recent times.
“This meeting will give us an opportunity to put the real concerns of the people of Donegal to the Assistant Garda Commissioner and seek assurances that the Gardaí will be adequately resourced to effectively police our communities.”
